This area extends from S 244th Street to S 252nd Street and is approximately 103 acres in size. The area is mostly within the City of Kent and includes a small portion of the South Des Moines Planning Area. The dominant feature in this area is the 60 acre closed Midway Landfill located just off SR-99/Pacific Highway (Pac Hwy) South to the east. The types of uses in this area are low intensity strip commercial development, storage, light manufacturing, a mobile home park and underutilized property. The Carpenters Union Hall at S 252nd is an example of new investment in the area.
Currently, this area is designated for commercial, industrial and low density residential development.
